How to Clear Cache on IPTV Smarters Pro

Clearing cache is safe routine maintenance. Clearing data is not — here is the difference, and when to use each.

IPTV Smarters Pro stores channel lists, EPG schedules, and thumbnail images locally so it doesn't have to re-download everything every time you open the app. Over weeks of use, this cache can grow large enough to slow the app down or fill up limited device storage on boxes like Firestick. Clearing it is safe and takes under a minute.

Cache vs. Data: What Each One Deletes

Action What It Deletes Do You Need to Log In Again?
Clear Cache Temporary files, EPG cache, thumbnail images No
Clear Data Everything above, plus your saved Xtream Codes login and app settings Yes
The one rule to remember: Clearing Cache is always safe to do whenever the app feels sluggish. Only use Clear Data if you specifically want to remove your saved login and start fresh, since it also erases your Xtream Codes credentials from the app.

Step 1: Clear Cache From Inside the App

  1. Open IPTV Smarters Pro and go to Settings (gear icon).
  2. Select General Settings or EPG Settings, depending on your app version.
  3. Look for a Clear Cache or Reset EPG Cache button and confirm.
  4. Restart the app; the channel list and guide will re-populate automatically.

Step 2: Clear Cache From Device Settings

If your app version doesn't expose an in-app cache option, clear it at the operating system level instead. This achieves the same result without touching your saved login.

  1. Android / Fire TV: Go to Settings → Applications → IPTV Smarters Pro → Storage, then tap Clear Cache (not Clear Data).
  2. Samsung/LG Smart TV: Open Settings → Apps, select IPTV Smarters Pro, and choose the cache-clearing option in its app info screen.
  3. PC/Mac: Fully close the app from the system tray, not just the window, then reopen it — the desktop client rebuilds its local cache automatically on launch.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will clearing cache delete my favorite channels?

No. Favorites and your playlist login are stored as app data, not cache. Clearing cache only removes temporary files like downloaded EPG schedules and thumbnail images, which rebuild automatically.

How often should I clear the cache?

There is no strict schedule. If the app feels slow, the EPG guide is showing stale information, or you are running low on device storage, clearing cache is a safe first troubleshooting step.

I accidentally tapped Clear Data instead of Clear Cache — what now?

Simply reopen the app and select Login with Xtream Codes API again, entering the same Username, Password, and Server URL you used originally. Your subscription itself is unaffected.
