An empty Electronic Program Guide (EPG) displaying "No Information Available" across all channels eliminates one of the primary benefits of using IPTV Smarters Pro. The EPG relies on fetching and parsing a remote XMLTV file provided by your IPTV service. When this data fails to load, the issue is caused by corrupted local guide caches, incorrect timezone offsets, or outdated EPG source links.

EPG Troubleshooting Matrix

Diagnose and resolve your specific TV guide issue using this reference chart:

EPG Symptom Underlying Cause Direct Solution
All channels display "No Information" Guide database cache expired or download halted Execute manual "Update EPG" force-refresh in app menu
Show listings are off by exactly 1 to 5 hours Server XMLTV clock differs from local TV timezone Adjust "EPG Timeshift" setting from 0 to +/- offset hours
EPG loads for sports, but fails for VOD / Movies Provider XMLTV file omits non-live channel mappings Expected behavior; XMLTV guides only map Live TV schedules
EPG updates stall at 0% or fail with "Download Error" ISP blocking XMLTV server URL or user out of storage Enable VPN and clear IPTV Smarters app storage cache

1. Force-Refreshing the XMLTV Guide Cache

IPTV Smarters Pro caches program guide data locally to prevent overwhelming your provider's server on every channel switch. If this local database file becomes corrupted or fills up your device memory, the app stops parsing new schedules.

  1. From the main IPTV Smarters Pro dashboard, click the **Settings (Gear Icon)**.
  2. Select **EPG Sources / EPG Management**.
  3. Click **Refresh EPG** or click the circular update icon on the main screen next to "Install EPG".
  4. Keep the app open and do not press any remote buttons until the status indicator reaches 100%.
How to automate updates: Inside Settings → EPG Settings, check the box for "Update EPG on every App Start". This ensures fresh guide data is fetched every time the app launches.

2. Correcting Timezone Discrepancies with EPG Timeshift

If your EPG displays program schedules, but a football match scheduled for 3:00 PM displays as airing at 10:00 AM, the server hosting your provider's XMLTV file is operating in a different timezone than your physical device.

You do not need to alter your TV's system clock to fix this discrepancy; IPTV Smarters Pro includes a built-in time-offset calculator called EPG Timeshift.

How to fix it: Go to Settings → EPG Settings → EPG Timeshift. If programs are displaying 3 hours behind real time, change the offset value to +3. If programs are displaying ahead of time, select negative offset values (e.g. -2). Save settings and restart the stream.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why do some channels display guide info while others are blank?

This indicates your provider's XMLTV file is incomplete. IPTV Smarters Pro can only display schedule data provided by your service. Contact your provider to fix missing guide mappings.

Does clearing app cache delete my saved EPG data?

Yes. Clearing cache wipes local guide storage, but clicking the 'Update EPG' button inside the app will instantly re-download fresh schedule data from the server.
