IPTV Smarters Pro publishes a dedicated iOS build rather than repackaging the Android app, so the interface, settings menu, and update cycle are slightly different on iPhone and iPad. The core Xtream Codes login process is identical, but a few iOS-specific settings are worth knowing before you start streaming.
The iOS App vs. the Android App
Both versions connect to the same Xtream Codes API and support the same channel lists, but Apple's background-execution rules mean the iOS app behaves differently when minimized. Live streams pause when you switch apps or lock your phone, whereas some Android builds can continue audio playback in the background. This is a platform limitation, not a bug in your subscription.
Step 1: Download From the App Store
- Open the App Store on your iPhone or iPad.
- Search for IPTV Smarters Player (the official iOS listing uses "Player" rather than "Pro" in its App Store name).
- Confirm the developer is WHMCS Smarters before installing — several unrelated clone apps use similar icons.
- Tap Get, authenticate with Face ID/Touch ID, and wait for the install to finish.
Why the App Store name is different: Apple's naming guidelines prevented the developer from using "Pro" in the public listing title. It is the same official application and connects to the same Xtream Codes accounts as the Android and desktop versions.
Step 2: Log In and Enable AirPlay
- Open the app and select Login with Xtream Codes API.
- Enter any label in Any Name, then your Username, Password, and Server URL exactly as supplied by your provider.
- Tap Add User and wait for the channel list to sync.
- To cast to an Apple TV or AirPlay-compatible television, swipe down from the top-right corner to open Control Center, tap the Screen Mirroring icon, and select your Apple TV while a channel is playing.
Battery tip: Long viewing sessions on cellular data drain the battery quickly because of continuous video decoding. For extended sports or movie nights, connect to Wi-Fi and keep the iPhone plugged in, or cast to a TV via AirPlay instead of watching directly on the phone screen.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why does playback stop when I switch to another app?
This is expected behavior on iOS. Apple restricts background video decoding for most third-party apps, so live streams pause automatically when the app is minimized or the screen locks.
Can I use the same Xtream Codes login on iPhone and Firestick at the same time?
You can log in on both devices, but whether you can stream on both simultaneously depends on your subscription’s connection limit. A single-connection plan will only allow one active stream at a time.
Does IPTV Smarters Pro support Picture-in-Picture on iPad?
Picture-in-Picture support depends on the app version and iPadOS version installed. If the option does not appear during playback, make sure both the app and iPadOS are fully updated.
